How to know if you're in a toxic relationship with your business

Tell me the truth. Do you love your business? Or somewhere along the way have you fallen into less than savoury patterns when it comes to business?

Let's start this conversation by putting aside any shame, blame and any bullshit around how 'it's out of your control and there's nothing you can do'.

This isn't a glass vase. If it's broken we can fix it - YOU can fix it.

A toxic relationship with your business can look like the following:

  • That no matter what you do nothing is good enough or will never be good enough

  • You secretly desire for your business to be an overnight success and make all your problems go away

  • When business is going well you're happy and when business is not going well you're not happy (in fact, you're devastated)

  • You constantly fluctuate between wanting to do this for the rest of your life and chucking it in the bin and forgetting you even started

  • Even when things are going well on the outside, it feels like a lie because you're crumbling on the inside.

These are just a few but are more than enough to know if you are in a toxic relationship with your business.

And I'm not just going to leave you here - uncomfortable and dissatisfied. I did promise we could fix it. The following advice will get you started on the journey.

And if you want to go further and commit to creating a healthy and happy relationship with your business join me over in the Soul-led & Satisfied membership.

This exclusive community will keep you on track to honouring yourself while furthering your business.

3 ways to stop The Toxic cycle:

Establish clear boundaries between you and your business. Yes, there is a lot of overlap and you are what is running the business but at the end of the day there needs to be a healthy separation and a clear divide.

Take the time to understand what you are asking from your business and what you are willing to give to your business. The more clarity, the easier it will be to trust that by doing this you are honouring your business.

Be grounded in the present. More often than not the roller coaster of emotions in your business comes from jumping between the past, the present and the future. Being in the Here and Now will help you accept where your business is rather then be disappointed with where you wished it to be.

You deserve the happy and healthy relationship with your business that you dreamed of when you started.

So get clear on what type of toxic relationship you have and then take these simple steps to healing and dealing with what is going on. And for long-term support join the Soul-led & Satisfied Membership.

And if you know that this conservation needs to go further so that you can go further too, join our community over on FB.
